Surface

Spring 2011

Surface is the American magazine of global contemporary design. Surface covers the worlds of architecture, art, design, fashion, and travel, with a focus on how these fields shape and are shaped by contemporary culture. We collaborated with graphic designer Matthias Ernstberger to develop a logo and editorial design. Retaining the trimmed bottom of the wordmark to express the concept of “surface,” we used the Caslon Graphique font to create this stylish logo that complements the design-oriented magazine.
